[GUPS] Next Meeting: Monday 25th @ 7pm Boyd Orr LT2

Hello all,

I'd first like to thank all those that got back to us with their 
personal details for GUPS membership last week; the affiliation forms 
have been submitted to the SRC and we should have confirmation in a 
couple of weeks.

Things are hotting up on the GUPS Exhibition front! Monday's meeting 
will open with short presentations by Stuart Dreghorn and myself on our 
digital workflows (how we manage our digital images) and quickly move 
onto an open forum discussion (aiming to start at around 7:30pm) about 
our plans for the exhibition. If you want to get involved in this 
exciting venture please come along on Monday to pose problems and 
suggest solutions. For more details you may wish to check out

please don't feel you need to have read anything to participate on 
Monday. This meeting will be held in Boyd Orr LT2 (ground floor) 
starting at 7pm on Monday 25th January.

The exhibition itself will conclude with a charity auction of all the 
items exhibited. This will be advertised to the University and general 
public. The exhibition should raise money for a worthwhile cause and may 
also garner some positive publicity for the society and for your work as 
a photographer. For more information on the charities proposed check out

need to settle on a charity on Monday.

Please come along to the meeting on Monday and future meetings as this 
is where the actual discussions will take place, as well as of course 
our regular lectures and discussions.  Stuart Dreghorn, our newly 
appointed Exhibitions Coordinator, will be running a workshop on 
portfolio selection in the near future for those who would like a bit of 
advice selecting which images to submit for the exhibition. We're hoping 
to issue a call for submissions in the next week or two; a deadline and 
submission rules will also be announced at that time.
