A feature-packed meeting this week: three short talks and a photo review
session. To submit something for the show & tell please email hyperlinks
or attachments to guphotosoc at googlemail.com or bring prints along on the
night. If you ask in the email, we won't divulge who sent us a
particular picture and we can critique anonymously.
Jonny is in the process of planning a trip to Edinburgh this Saturday,
which you can check out here

The meeting will be this Monday (5th October) at 7pm in Boyd Orr Room
513 (Lecture Theatre D). If you're not sure of your way around the Boyd
Orr, email me (sean at moniker42.com) and I'll give you my phone number.
Among other things, I'll be talking about how to adjust your (digital)
camera to deal with poor lighting conditions. Scott will be talking
about shutter speed and how you can use it creatively to capture motion.
Benzo will be talking about something :)
Monday evening events in the pipeline include talks on landscape
photography, demonstrations on digital workflow with software such as
Adobe Lightroom, a workshop on tripod usage and a number of
photography-related film screenings. If you would like to give a talk or
workshop of any length, whether it's a 5-minute howto or a 50-minute
lecture, please get in touch by email or let people know at the meetings.
If you left early on Saturday or Monday because you were bored or
expecting something else, please give us another shot (aha, like a
camera!) this Monday and come along to the talks and show & tell. I'm
confident that the variety will make it an engaging meeting for everyone
involved. There will be three short talks taking around ten minutes each
followed by about five minutes of questions each, then a photo review
session. Starting at 1900, wrapping up at 2030 approx.
See you all on Monday!
Sean.
