Hi everyone, here's a wee update on forthcoming photosoc activity.

=== This Week ===
Apologies to anyone that turned up for the wander at 1pm on Wednesday
and found no one there; I couldn't make it at the last minute and it
seems there we no other regulars there either. If you went to the Main
Gate and found no one there, please don't be discouraged from coming
along to any future photosoc events. Anyway, onto hopefully
better-planned events...

In partnership with Screens GU we'll be screening "War Photographer" at
3pm today in the Andrew Stewart Cinema. If you don't know where that is,
it's across the road from the GUU and shown here on Google StreetView:
http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=245+Kilmarnock+Rd,+Glasgow,+Lanarkshire+G41+3JF,+United+Kingdom&ll=55.872305,-4.284778&spn=0,359.997936&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=55.87225,-4.284904&panoid=UGjE1LA35UQjAUktTfIk3A&cbp=12,100.98,,0,-3.75

Screens regularly hold free screenings on Thursday afternoons and often
visit the GFT and Grosvenor cinemas, you can find them on facebook at
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5318798174&ref=ts

You may also be interested in the International Society's screening of
"City of God" tomorrow night at 6pm in Boyd Orr LT2. I'd highly
recommend the film in question :)

=== The Weekend ===
There is a new exhibition at Streetlevel Photoworks opening this
Saturday called "In Sickness and in Health" with a talk by the artist at
1pm. More info at

Some of us are also planning to shoot the protests that may or may not
take place this Saturday. If you're interested, check out

=== Next Week ===
The society will be holding an EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) on
Monday where we will sort out board positions for the rest of the year
and discuss some other important matters. Please come along and
participate. Hopefully this won't take too long, then we can get onto
arguing about cameras, film, the Internet etc. This relatively informal
meeting will be held in the QMU Food Factory (second floor) at 7pm on
Monday 16th November.

That's it for now, be sure to check out the flickr discussion pages for
more photo-related activities, and see you around!

Regards,
Sean Anderson.
